CA Global: Engineering and Construction (Water Infrastructure Projects) has a client looking for a Project Director with experience in port infrastructure projects. The successful candidate would have experience managing various tasks in port works from project start up to completion. This position will be based in Mozambique .
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Feasibility phase:
Responsible for conducting the feasibility study
Design phase:
Carry out design studies and analysis
Overseeing that the design is upheld and maintained whilst complying with budgetary and timeline frameworks
Construction phase:
Prepare start up of activities in port and general services (recruitment, training, writing procedure for operation and maintenance, stock of consumables, operation of port to respond to Project Group’s needs
As Client, follow up on construction of site facilities (port, coal and lime stock sites, operation equipment, etc.)
HSE procedures
Operate and manage port facilities as part of Project Group
Anticipate expected difficulties in operation phase
Selection of subcontractors and providers
Operation phase:
Manage maritime traffic at the port
Manage emergency maritime team
Manage stock containers
Manage transport of materials and consumables containers
Manage fleet of light vehicle and maintenance as well as auxiliaries buildings
REQUIREMENTS
University educated tertiary qualification
15+ years experience at management level in operation of complex industrial facilities
Knowledge and experience in each phase of the project life cycle – Feasibility, Design, Construction and Operation phase.
Fluent in English
Knowledge of Portuguese would be an advantage.
Possess drive and ability to work to tight schedules.
Able to lead a multicultural team
Innovative problem solver
