Hot Job: Civil Project Engineer (Structural Steel Works) - New Caledonia

CA Global: Engineering and Construction (Building Projects) has a client looking for a Project Engineer with experience in working on structural steel projects. This position will be based in New Caledonia.
 
DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
 
During the construction phase:
  • Review and become familiar with the facilities and equipment of the plant
  • Participate in the transfer of facilities to the client operations
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of documentation for the project
  • validate the list of outstanding issues and associated actions  
During the operations phase:
  • Participate in and support in terms of any proposed engineering works such as new engineering and / or structural steel which will be entrusted to the Engineering Department and Regulatory Compliance
  • Participate in the preparation and execution of major maintenance works
  • Periodically check compliance with HSE requirements
  • Assist the Health and Safety Department to improve the safety of staff at the facility level
  • Work closely with Purchasing and Procurement Department for the preparation of tenders, assessment of tenders and selection of suppliers / businesses
 
REQUIREMENTS:
 
  • Experience having worked as a civil engineer
  • 5 to 10 years professional experience.
  • Good experience having worked on structural steel projects
  • Proven experience writing specifications and monitoring of subcontractors.
  • Candidates must be fluent in both English and French.
  • High standards of discipline and organization.
